3D printing is an incredible technology that brings digital designs to life with precision and creativity. As a web development company, we’re no strangers to using digital tools to build something from the ground up–whether it’s a website or, in this case, a birdhouse. For those unfamiliar, 3D printing works by transforming a digital file into a physical object. Unlike traditional manufacturing, which often involves cutting or carving from a solid block, the printer reads the file and lays down thin layers of material (usually plastic or resin) to build the object from the bottom up. The result is an incredibly precise product. For this birdhouse, we wanted something custom-made–something that truly stood out from all the other birdhouses on the block. With the help of Michele from Maker World and a high-tech printer from Bambu Lab, we set out to build a one-of-a-kind avian abode, blending technology and creativity just as we do in our work as a growth marketing agency and web development company. Although it took some patience (ok, a lot of patience) and a few attempts, we think it turned out pretty good!

Although the process did take several hours, it allows for much faster prototyping and iteration. In our case, we were able to test different aspects and even make adjustments while the printer was still in action.

We installed a small, high-quality camera inside the birdhouse, allowing us to observe birds as they come and go. This smart feature adds a whole new layer of excitement and interaction.
