Haiti Support

Hello,

As you may remember, my family and I have a very strong connection with Haiti. In 1995 my family sold everything and moved to Haiti to become full time missionaries. From that time through 2012, we have been able to help many who were in desperate need. Even through the devastation of the earthquake in January of 2010. Our friends from Canada and the USA have always been generous in the time of need. Because of their generosity primary schools, orphanages, elderly programs, a trades school, clinics, churches, earthquake shelters, homes, micro loan projects and feeding programs have been established.

Over the last couple of years, I have felt a strong calling to go back and help out again. Doors have opened back up and I have an exciting opportunity coming up this February that I’d like to share with you. As part of my growing desire help people in need all over the world, I will be traveling back to Haiti on Feb 23, 2019 for one week with my wife and two other people.

I am writing is to ask for your financial partnership with me in this endeavour. We will be helping the Haitians in Port-Au-Prince and Leogange area with their ongoing outreach programs to local children, schools, churches, clinics as well as offering our service to more remote areas where they have little to no help.

Below I have listed a few areas where we need help:

Schools Feeding & Toothbrushes

We are going to a school to give the children a hot meal of rice, beans and vegetables. This may be their only meal for a few days, so this is truly a HUGE blessing. There are 400 children and it would cost approximately $600US to feed each one of them. We are also accepting toothbrushes that we can pass out to all the kids.  If we end up raising additional funds, we can provide more meals for the children.

Clinic Check-up and Food Distribution

There is a clinic for the elderly, that will be running while we are there. We will be helping take their blood pressure and do a check-up for each person attending. There are usually around 60 seniors attend. The clinic would appreciate if we could hand out bags of dry rice and beans to each senior attending that day. This would cost approximately $450US

Remote Mountain Aid Trip

We would love to go to a very poor village in the mountains that never sees help. We will be using donkeys to carry supplies (and us) and bring bags of rice along with toiletries to hand out. This would be approximately $500US.

Orphanage

The orphanage currently has 21 children. We are going to find out what is most needed in the upcoming weeks from the caregivers. We will also be providing a hot meal here for the kids. It would also be great if we could bring a couple soccer balls and skipping ropes for the kids to play with. This will cost approximately $450US.

If you would like to help us change lives, I would be truly thankful. Every cash donation will be eligible for tax deductable receipt. I will also make sure to take a photo and if time allows, a video of how your donation helped.  We are also holding a Trivia Night to help raise funds. It's a fun night out while supporting our cause.  Here is a link to our Trivia Night
